A series of building information modeling (BIM) meetings at the buildingSMART alliance National Conference, held during the Institute’s Annual Meeting, focused on the kick-off of the
National BIM Standard-United States (NBIMS) Version 2. While the initial plan was to begin receiving ballots on January 3, 2011, with a deadline of February 28, people are finding they have more work to do to prepare for the deadline. Therefore, the Alliance is inserting a two-month “blue sky” ballot period so people can submit “draft” ballots for discussion and coordination prior to the extended submission date. The new deadline is May 2, 2011.
