buildingSMART alliance Board Member Carl Galioto to Sit on Conference Panel

April 6 - New York City

A discounted registration rate is being offered to National Institute of Building Sciences members to attend Construction FutureTech 2011 on April 6 in New York City. The upcoming industry conference hosted by McGraw-Hill Construction’s Engineering News-Record (ENR) brings together business information technology (IT) leaders in architecture, engineering and construction to examine the business and design issues driving advanced systems.

Speakers will discuss how applying cutting-edge technologies can give firms a competitive advantage and add overall profitability. Early adopters will confer how they are leveraging improvements in business processes and engineering data coordinating and exchange to accomplish projects.

Construction FutureTech will hold a number of case studies during the day. One of the morning panels, “FutureTech for Analysis & Simulation,” will include Carl Galioto, FAIA, a member of the buildingSMART alliance Board of Direction. A senior principal for HOK, the global architecture firm, Galioto heads HOK’s buildingSMART initiative. HOK is a contributing organization of the National Institute of Building Sciences, a corporate sponsor of the Institute’s buildingSMART alliance, and a sponsor of buildingSMART International.

The panel will address how emerging technologies are enabling users to comparatively analyze alternative design solutions, construction sequencing scenarios, energy consumption profiles and other complex aspects of projects with increasing speed, accuracy and sophistication. Galioto and the other panelists will share their experiences and forecast the coming impacts of these advances.

The National Institute of Building Sciences is a supporting sponsor of Construction FutureTech 2011. Institute members receive $200 off the standard rate and pay only $295 to attend. To learn more about the event and to register, visit: http://construction.com/events/2011/cft/register.asp
