The Institute and the Alliance signed an agreement to develop Open BIM Standards with the Canadian BIM Council on March 24, 2010. A news story can be found here the agreement itself can be read here (PDF). The intent is to work collaboratively on a National BIM Standard and then tune the document for country specific issues and issue a National BIM Standard - U.S. and a National BIM Standard - Canada. The bulk of the information will be the same. The Alliance also has a similar agreement in place with South Korea and will also be working toward National BIM Standard - ROK.
