Congratulations to Bill East and Mark Kalin for winning the CSI Excellence In Construction Information Award in the Innovation Category for their efforts in developing the Specifiers Property Sets. This information will be used to support the Specifiers Property information exchange (SPie) project of the buildingSMART alliance being developed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers ERDC. The extensive property set is used as the basis for getting manufacturers to develop information in an open standard for inclusion in a Building Information Model (BIM). It puts the "I" in BIM! This will also keep manufacturers from developing multiple information sets for each vendors library. The ISO based templates will be stored in the WBDG Product Library. We appreciate their contribution to the industry and their tireless support of the Alliance.
